Jigi Q&A for Confluence
A Q&A board for each Confluence space. Every question and every answer is an ordinary Confluence page, so it inherits the space's permissions and the whole of it — not just the title — is searchable.
Install
Install from the Atlassian Marketplace. The app asks for permission to read and write Confluence pages and to search, because that is where it stores questions and answers. It stores nothing of its own.
Open the board
In any space, open Space apps → Q&A in the left sidebar. The first time you open it, the app creates one page called Q&A in that space. Every question lives under it.
Ask, answer, accept
- Ask a question. The title and the details both become page content. Anything you write in the details is searchable, not only the title.
- Answer. Each answer becomes a child page of the question.
- Mark as the answer. The accepted answer is labelled and shown first.
Search
The search box covers the body of questions and answers in that space. A word that appears only inside an answer will find that answer, and the result tells you which question it belongs to.
One behaviour worth knowing: Confluence's search index is not instant — we measured between 1 second and about 100 seconds on a fresh site. That is why the question list does not use search at all. It reads the pages directly, so a question you just posted is on the board immediately, even while search is still catching up.
Permissions and your data
- Questions and answers are pages in your space and follow its restrictions.
- Export, page history, watchers and notifications work as they do for any page.
- The app adds labels (
jigi-qa-question,jigi-qa-answer,jigi-qa-accepted) so it can tell content apart. You can remove them in Confluence; they are your pages. - If you uninstall the app, your questions and answers stay where they are.
Pricing
Free for up to 10 users. Above that, $4 per user per month, billed through Atlassian.
